Student Visa Checklist & Requirements
General Documents Required
- A completed Student Visa application form via ImmiAccount or relevant embassy portal.
- A valid passport (valid for at least six months beyond intended stay with blank visa pages).
- Two recent passport-sized photographs (35mm x 45mm, front-facing, no older than six months).
- Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) issued by the Australian education provider.
- Proof of Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of the stay.
- Proof of sufficient funds (bank statements for last six months, sponsor documents, or financial guarantees).
- Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or other accepted tests).
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) or Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement explaining the purpose of study.
- NID/Birth certificate copy (translated to English if necessary and notarized).
- All non-English documents must be translated into English by an authorized translator and notarized.
Academic Documents
- Academic transcripts and certificates (SSC, HSC, bachelor’s, master’s as applicable).
- Leave certificate from the last attended institution.
- Gap explanation documents if there is a break in studies.
Professional Documents
To demonstrate ties to Bangladesh and intent to return, provide relevant proofs based on profession:
- Business Person: Trade license, certificate of incorporation, TIN/income tax returns (last 3 years), business profile, bank statements.
- Employee: No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer, employment contract, salary slips (last 6 months).
- Student: Student ID, enrollment letter, leave certificate.
- Retired Person: Retirement documents, pension statements.
- Dependent (Housewife/Children/Parents): Sponsor's financial and professional documents, relationship proof.
- Government Service: NOC for official passports.
- Professionals (Doctors, Advocates, Artists): Relevant certificates, licenses.
Additional Documents
- Police clearance certificate (if required).
- Medical examination reports from panel physicians.
- Details of previous visas and refusals (if any).
- Affidavit for name/document discrepancies (notarized).
Visa Processing Policies & Updates (as of November 2025)
- Apply online via ImmiAccount or embassy portal; biometrics at VFS Global, Dhaka.
- Processing time varies from 4 to 8 weeks; apply early to avoid delays.
- Visa fee: AUD 630 (Student Visa Subclass 500), non-refundable.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is mandatory for the full duration of the course.
- Additional documents or interviews may be requested; approval is subject to compliance with all criteria.
- Regulations may change; applicants bear translation and notary costs.
- High volume of applications in November 2025; book biometrics appointment early.
